Alex Hickman is responsible for running Prosperity UK’s programme.
Alex has a background in journalism, campaigning and strategic communications, and has led single issue and cross -party campaigns in the UK and around the world.
Alex worked as a journalist for the Economist Intelligence Unit and Euromoney in the Balkans (1994/96). He was Chief Executive of Business for Sterling and the cross-party Europe Yes Euro No campaign (1998/2003); co-founded the think tank Open Europe (2005); and worked as a foreign affairs adviser to former Prime Minister David Cameron (2006/07) focusing on UK policy towards EU and India.
Alex set up Chartwell Partners, a speaker bureau, in 2007 and spent nine years building it into a global business with 17 employees. He exited Chartwell at the end of 2016 to lead a series of Brexit-related initiatives including Prosperity UK.
Alex spent twenty years (1990-2010) working as a volunteer, campaign manager and then trustee for Restless Development, an NGO with youth-led operations in Africa and Asia.
